Weather Forecast: Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Expected in Ho Chi Minh City and Southern Provinces
The Meteorological Department has forecasted that the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces will continue to be rainy, showery, and thunderstormy in some areas, with heavy rain expected mainly from noon to evening.
According to the Southern Regional Hydrological and Meteorological Observatory, a low-pressure system is weakening and dissipating, while a subtropical high pressure is invading westward through the central and southern regions. The southwest monsoon in the southern region is gradually reducing its intensity to medium level.
Over the next 3 to 10 days, a low-pressure trough will form a tropical convergence zone that passes through the central region and the central East Sea. The southwest monsoon will gradually decrease and act as an intermediate intensity, and tend to increase again around December 13.
From December 13, the subtropical high pressure will gradually weaken in the highlands.
During the week, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City is often rainy, with showers in many places and thunderstorms in some places. Some areas have moderate rain, or heavy to very heavy rain. There have been a few weekends when the rain stopped, mainly from noon to evening.
Today, Ho Chi Minh City and some southern regions will have clouds, showers, and thunderstorms. There will be showers and thunderstorms in some places in the afternoon and evening.
