US-based Strategic Value Partners (SVP) will acquire the Blanchardstown Centre in west Dublin. The deal’s financial terms remain undisclosed, but reports suggest it is valued around €600 million. This is lower than the €650 million sought when the property was listed for sale last year.

Goldman Sachs owns the centre, alongside two retail parks and an office building, through Blanche Developments Limited and The Blanchardstown Fund. Both entities will be part of the transaction.

Last week, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission received notification of the planned acquisition. Goldman Sachs purchased the centre from Blackstone in 2020 for about €750 million. Blackstone had bought it for €950 million from Green Property in 2016.

The Blanchardstown Centre features 1.2 million square feet of retail space, with over 180 shops and restaurants. It attracts around 17 million visitors annually and offers 5,500 parking spaces.

What are the key strategies Mike Ungari plans to implement at the Blanchardstown Centre after acquiring it?

Our goal is to maintain the centre as not just a shopping destination, but a local hub for leisure and community activities.

Mike Ungari: Absolutely. We understand that engaging with local authorities, tenants, and community members is critical for success.
