Strava fired an employee after she went vrey viral on social media this week.
Shireen Afkari was filmed Saturday yelling at and physically assaulting staff at san Francisco’s celebrity restaurant Hazie’s. The explosive footage filmed by a witness of the incident has amassed millions of views across several platforms.
Strava confirmed Thursday in an Instagram post promoting its recent “Trend Report” that it had axed Afkari.
“We are aware of an employee who exhibited extremely concerning off-hours behavior. We don’t condone violence of any kind and this does not reflect the standards we expect of our team,” reads the comment.
“This past Monday, we made the decision to end the individual’s employment.”
The website SF Gate reported that Afkari had been working as senior manager of growth marketing at the San Francisco-based fitness app Strava.
