Streak of Struggle Continues: Meiji University Falls to Senshu University in Kanto University Division 1 League

Losing to Senshu University, Unable to Break the Bad Streak / Kanto University Division 1 League

Meiji University’s basketball team faced‍ off against Senshu University in the Kanto ‌University Division 1⁣ League,‌ but unfortunately lost 50-74. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to break their bad streak.

The ​match took ​place on September 1st ‌at Hakuoh University Daigyoji ⁤Campus, with Meiji University’s starters being PG⁤ Hiramatsu Katsuki, SG Harima Daichi, SG Muto‍ Shuntaro, PF‌ Ito Haruki, and PF Ogawara Kanta.

Muto Shuntaro, who took ‍the lead with a​ step-back 3-point shot at the start of the game, reflected on the match, saying, “Yesterday we⁤ lost because of my ‍mistake, so today ⁢I was mentally⁣ determined​ to⁣ shoot aggressively.”

Despite their efforts, Meiji University struggled with Senshu University’s physical defense ⁤and ended the ​first half with an 18-point lead. In the second half, they tried to close ⁤the gap​ in points, but were unable to compete with Senshu University’s high-quality basketball.

The team’s next match is against Yamanashi Gakuin University, and they are determined ‍to make⁢ a comeback. Morita Kira, a 2nd-year student at Hokuriku Gakuin, said, “I think we can beat them if we don’t rush, ⁢so I want to do my best and do ​what I need to do.”

Post-match comments from Muto and Morita highlighted the team’s struggles and areas for improvement.⁢ Muto noted⁣ that the team ‌needs to work on playing with loose balls and being more gritty, while Morita emphasized the importance of rebounding and cheering up the team when they’re having a bad ‌day.

Meiji University’s basketball ​team is determined⁤ to turn their season around and reach ​the top four in the league. ‍With their next ⁢match ​against Yamanashi Gakuin University, they are focused on making a comeback and achieving their goals.
