From October 21st to 26th, Yunyang County’s 2024 official veterinary training course was successfully held. Song Guorong, captain of the County Agricultural Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Detachment, and Li Jianhua, deputy captain, attended the training and delivered speeches. A total of about 160 people from relevant departments of the county’s comprehensive agricultural administrative law enforcement detachment, official veterinarians and co-inspectors of each township (street), heads of nine slaughtering enterprises in the county and resident veterinary health inspectors participated in the training. This training model is novel, the courses are rich and professional, and theory is combined with practice, aiming to create an official veterinary team with excellent skills, strong quality and hard work style.

The first is the integration of online and offline activities to learn from each other and improve skills. Closely following the development needs of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, a teaching model combining “online + offline” is adopted. While on-site teaching is organized, online live broadcasts of the China Animal Disease Control and Prevention Center are also watched. The training method breaks the traditional model; during the training period, 42 Streets in various towns and villages exchanged experiences on animal quarantine work, and held heated discussions on improving animal quarantine technology and upgrading Chongqing’s smart animal monitoring system. Obtain high-quality learning resources in official veterinary online and offline courses, enhance the interactivity and pertinence of training through face-to-face Q&A and in-depth communication, and achieve the dual goals of knowledge transfer and skill improvement.
The second is the gathering of academic authorities and strong theoretical and practical qualities. The training course invited Du Chengcai, director of the Veterinary Department of the Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Commission and senior veterinarian, and Deng Yong, deputy chief of the Municipal Agricultural Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Corps and public lawyer, etc., to focus on the Animal Epidemic Prevention Law of the People’s Republic of China and the Official Veterinarian Special lectures on policies and regulations such as “Standards for Performing Duties in accordance with the Law” and “Current Situation and Prospects of the Slaughter Industry” and other policies are provided. At the same time, practical courses on animal origin quarantine and slaughter quarantine are set up to improve grassroots official veterinarians’ ability to improve animal clinical health examination and common animal diseases differential diagnosis, and help Official veterinarians have sharp eyes and sharp eyes, laying the foundation for the sustainable and healthy development of the animal husbandry industry.

The third is case warning education, with precise targeting and excellent work style. A special course on official veterinary warning education was carried out. Taking the integrity risks of quarantine work as the entry point, we conducted an in-depth analysis of disciplinary and illegal cases that occurred across the country, especially in the field of animal quarantine in our city, and analyzed from typical cases the issuance of certificates without quarantine, issuance of certificates through mountains, and False certificates, reselling and illegal use of quarantine certificates and other illegal and disciplinary behaviors should alert official veterinarians to strictly abide by legal red lines in their work, perform their duties conscientiously, and effectively ensure the safety of meat and food for the people.
In the next step, the County Agricultural Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Detachment will actively explore more innovative training models and methods, strengthen the construction of veterinary talent teams, improve the training and assessment system, and further promote the professionalization, standardization, and scientificization of official veterinary training.
