U.S. and Indonesian Military Leaders Discuss Defense Cooperation
On November 18, 2024, in Washington, D.C., U.S. Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey shared insights from a recent video conference between Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Gen. Agus Subiyanto, Commander of Indonesia’s National Armed Forces.
During the meeting, Gen. Brown highlighted the need for collaboration among nations in the Indo-Pacific region. He pointed to the Super Garuda Shield Exercise as a key opportunity for building regional partnerships. The two leaders also covered topics related to enhancing defense collaboration and ongoing military modernization efforts.
The United States values its relationship with Indonesia as a stabilizing force in the region. The U.S. military is committed to strengthening its defense partnership with the Indonesian armed forces.
