After a tumultuous summer,Strictly Come Dancing rebounded in its 20th series, delivering high-caliber performances and captivating moments. The season navigated the departure of two male professionals amid behavioral complaints, prompting inquiries and the introduction of chaperones.
Despite early challenges, the show’s Strictly Come Dancing 2024 season showcased extraordinary talent. Comedian Chris McCausland, the show’s first blind contestant, emerged as a fan favorite. Partnered with Dianne Buswell, McCausland has become the odds-on favorite to win. His performances have resonated with audiences, blending humor and inspiration. While not consistently topping the leaderboard, his fate rests with the public vote.
The other finalists, including Sarah Hadland,JB Gill, and Tasha Ghouri, are strong contenders. Hadland has shown consistent excellence, while gill has been a standout performer. Ghouri, who is deaf and uses a cochlear implant, has achieved high scores but is perceived by some as lacking a compelling narrative.
Ghouri and Gill each earned perfect scores of 40 for their waltz and American smooth, and salsa, respectively. McCausland’s “couple’s choice” routine, featuring a blackout segment, is considered a highlight.
Conversely, Toyah Willcox’s tango received only 12 points and was widely criticized.
The season also had its share of controversy. The glitterball trophy winner remains to be seen.
