The Korea Store Music Association announced on the 30th that it submitted an application for a small business suitable business to the Mutual Growth Committee.
The Shared Growth Committee resolves various conflicts inherent in society through shared growth and cooperation between large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises, and pursues strengthening the international competitiveness of our economy and sustainable growth.
The ‘Suitable Industries for Small and Medium Businesses’ system is a system that proposes various standards for role division through social consensus in cases where the indiscriminate advancement of large corporations causes the management of small and medium-sized businesses to deteriorate, and provides opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses to secure competitiveness.
The subject of application for the ‘Small and Medium Business Suitable Business’ application by the Korea Store Music Association to the Korea Gender Equality and Family Development Committee is a ‘store music service’ that transmits BGM (background music) to commercial spaces in the service industry, and the large company in question is CJ OliveNetworks Co., Ltd.
As CJ OliveNetworks Co., Ltd. has recently made full-fledged inroads into local commercial areas, it is showing signs of conflict with small and medium-sized store music service providers.
Small and medium-sized store music service providers established the Korea Store Music Association to protect alley commercial districts.
Lee Jeong-hwan, Chairman of the Korea Store Music Association, said, “There is a need for reasonable coordination between large and small businesses in the store music service market, where small and medium-sized businesses can demonstrate competitiveness through the ‘small business suitable industry’ system.”
The association believes that representatives of member companies of the Korea Store Music Association and CJ OliveNetworks will be able to discuss current issues through a meeting hosted by the Mutual Growth Committee as early as the end of this year.
