Sudden Closure of Apex Physical Medicine Leaves Colorado Springs Patients in the Dark
Apex Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Centers Close Without Notice
Apex Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation centers in Colorado Springs have closed unexpectedly. Patients report they did not receive prior notification about the closure.
News5Investigates received information about a posted notice on one of Apex’s buildings. The notice stated that the center was over $20,000 behind on rent, taxes, and other costs. The landlord, Niadventure LLC, demanded payment within three days.
John Bissell is the owner of Niadventure LLC. His name appears online as a doctor for Apex. He was the registered agent for Apex Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation until January 2023, according to state records.
When contacted by News5Investigates, Bissell said he has not been connected to Apex since January. He stated that his current role is as a creditor, implying that Apex owes him money. He advised News5Investigates to contact the current owner, Heather Copeland.
News5 attempted to reach Copeland. Upon realizing it was News5 calling, she hung up. Further attempts to communicate via text did not receive a response.
