Sundance Head, ‘The Voice’ Winner, Airlifted After Gunshot Incident: Latest Updates
Sundance Head Hospitalized After Shooting
Sundance Head, the winner of season 11 of The Voice, was shot on his Texas ranch on November 15. He was airlifted to a hospital and is currently in stable condition, according to his wife, Misty Head.
Trey Newman, Head’s agent, confirmed the shooting. He stated that the bullet struck Head in the navel area but did not hit any vital organs. Newman noted that the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear. He suggested it could have been an accident with Head’s gun or possibly an incident involving another hunter nearby.
Misty Head provided updates through social media, asking for prayers for her husband. She reported that paramedics stabilized him for the flight, where Head underwent immediate surgery upon arrival at the hospital.
Before winning The Voice in 2016, Sundance Head was a semi-finalist on American Idol in 2007. He has since released four albums, with his latest, Starting Again, released in 2022. He had nine shows scheduled across Texas in December and more planned for the upcoming year.
