Reported Theft at Istanbul Home of Football Manager
Marcel Licka, head coach of Fatih Karagümrük, reported a theft at his residence in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul on October 16, 2025. Upon discovering a notable discrepancy in cash-finding only a small amount instead of the $1,800 he’d left on a table-Licka immediately contacted authorities.
The missing items also included a white gold bracelet, a ring, a diamond ring, and earrings collectively valued at approximately €8,000. Licka promptly filed a formal complaint with the police.
Inquiry Focuses on Cleaning Staff
Responding officers arrived at the scene and conducted a forensic examination, focusing on fingerprint analysis. Initial assessments revealed no evidence of forced entry, and the home did not appear too have been ransacked, suggesting the perpetrator likely had legitimate access.
While Licka refrained from directly accusing anyone in his statement, investigators are currently focusing thier attention on the individual responsible for cleaning services at the property.
Security Footage and Legal Action
Police are reviewing security camera footage from the surrounding area to gather additional evidence. Licka intends to pursue legal action following the completion of the fingerprint analysis and the results of the security footage review.
