Rationale Behind the Partnership
Rugby Australia Chief Executive Phil Waugh explained to the Australian Financial Review (AFR) that the agreement reflects the improved performance of Australian teams in the Super Rugby competitions. He suggested that the rising on-field success made the league a more attractive prospect for sponsors.
