In the Pimpri constituency, MP Supriya Sule expressed her strong belief that Dr. Sulakshana Shilwant, the Mahavikas Aghadi candidate, will win the election. Sule criticized divisive politics, particularly the “Batenge to Katenge” rhetoric, during a women’s rally in Akurdi. Thousands of women attended the rally, showing support for Shilwant.
Sule highlighted the importance of social reformers like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. She accused the BJP of creating social divisions. Sule noted that successful COVID vaccines were developed by people from various communities, underscoring the need for unity. She proclaimed a coming revolution in Maharashtra, supporting Shilwant’s vision for social change.
Sule thanked the Congress and Shiv Sena leaders for their support amid challenges for the NCP. She promised financial empowerment for women, pledging Rs. 3000 each month after the Mahavikas Aghadi government is formed. Sule challenged current MLA Anna Bansode for being inactive, urging voters to choose someone who addresses community issues.
At the rally, Dr. Sulakshana Shilwant expressed her frustration with the lack of development in Pimpri-Chinchwad. She criticized Ajit Pawar for only benefiting a few and highlighted the desperate need for infrastructure improvements. Shilwant accused Pawar’s candidate of neglecting slum rehabilitation projects and failing to ensure accountability during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Shilwant declared her commitment to the community, despite any intimidation. She received a warm response from women at the rally, personally greeting them and creating an emotional atmosphere. Activist Sushma Shinde praised Shilwant as an educated and determined leader who would persist in her mission.
