Investigative work on the case was carried out jointly with the Public Ministry, utilizing specialized units including OS9, OS7, SEBV, and Labocar. General Cristian Montre Soto, the head of the Antofagasta Carabineros Zone, stated that the operation combined tactical intelligence and evidentiary analysis to locate the alleged shooter.

General Montre issued a direct warning to anyone attempting to shelter the remaining fugitive, noting that three individuals are already facing charges specifically for harboring the first suspect. Judicial proceedings for the four detained individuals continue under the direction of the Public Ministry in Antofagasta.
