Saudi King Issues Royal Orders to Reorganize Council of Senior Scholars and Shura Council
The Saudi King, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, has issued two royal orders to reorganize the Council of Senior Scholars and the Shura Council. According to the Saudi news agency “SPA”, the royal orders include the reorganization of the Council of Senior Scholars, effective from 1/3/1446. The reorganized council will be led by the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Sheikh, as President.
Other members of the reorganized Council of Senior Scholars include Sheikh Dr. Saleh Al-Fawzan, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al-Sheikh, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al-Turki, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Manea, and Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Humaid.
Shura Council Reorganization
The Saudi royal decree also approved the formation of the Shura Council for four Hijri years. Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Sheikh will serve as the President of the Shura Council, while Dr. Meshal Al-Sulami will be the Vice-President. Dr. Hanan bint Abdul Rahim bin Mutlaq Al-Ahmadi will serve as the Assistant Chairman of the Shura Council.
