Poland advanced to the final after defeating the United States in the semifinals, while Switzerland eliminated Belgium. The match between Świątek and Bencic was the first of several scheduled for the final, including men’s singles and a mixed doubles match.
Eighteen teams competed in the United Cup, playing matches in both Sydney and Perth.
