Dive In: A review of the⁢ Swimply Pool Rental App

Updated June 05, 2025

Swimply, the pool rental app, is ⁢changing how people access swimming pools. Think of it‌ as the Airbnb of ‍pools, offering a platform ‍for homeowners to share⁤ their underutilized pools and amenities with others. Bunim Laskin, the founder, conceived the idea‍ after noticing his neighbor’s‌ pool was rarely used. He offered⁢ to contribute to the pool’s upkeep in exchange for⁣ access, and Swimply was born.

Today, Swimply boasts over 25,000 listings across the U.S., Canada, and Australia. Beyond pools, the platform includes pickleball and basketball courts. Swimming pool rentals range from simple above-ground pools to resort-style setups, with prices varying accordingly.

The⁢ platform acts as an intermediary, giving homeowners control over guest limits, hours, and allowed activities.Users can search for local pools and filter by amenities like “pet friendly” or “party friendly.”

One user in Austin, Texas, experienced ‍three ⁤different Swimply rentals. ⁣The first pool offered a waterfall, floaties, lounge chairs, a hot tub, and even a zipline. The second rental involved a friendly host, Liz, who greeted the user and provided access to a private bathroom. The third pool was the most luxurious, featuring a waterfall,swim-up bar stools, and cabanas.

Joey, the host of the third pool, greeted the user with champagne. The user enjoyed tanning and even ‌took a meeting poolside. The onyl downside was the bathroom’s location inside the house, which led to an awkward encounter with the host’s partner.

“Once you shake someone’s hand, they go from a stranger to a friend,” Laskin said. “And with Swimply, you’re meeting people in some ⁣of their happiest⁢ moments.”
