Swiss Women’s Football League Sees Mixed Results in Recent Matches
The Swiss Women’s Nationalliga B and Super League Women experienced a flurry of activity this past week, with several matches delivering compelling results and shifting the league standings. FC Wädenswil delivered a dominant performance against FC Solothurn, winning 6-0. Jessica Berger opened the scoring in the 8th minute, and Romy Geiger doubled the lead in the 31st minute. Berger added her second goal in the 36th minute, followed by another from Geiger in the 41st minute. The second half continued in the same vein, with Linda Krienbühl scoring in the 72nd minute and converting a penalty in the 88th minute to complete the rout. Solothurn, fielding only 12 players, remain on one point.
FC Sion demonstrated their strength with a 2-0 victory over FC Küssnacht a/R. Maeva Fontannaz opened the scoring in the 2nd minute with a precise free kick and doubled their lead just five minutes later. Küssnacht had opportunities to respond, but Claudia Lourenco Rodrigues missed a penalty in the 42nd minute, dashing their hopes of a comeback.
