Xu Shaoqiang’s Life and Death: A Turbulent Journey of Love and Loss
Xu Shaoqiang, a renowned figure in the entertainment industry, passed away on September 1 at the age of 73 due to esophageal cancer. However, his death was soon followed by another tragic loss – his third wife, who died of a heart attack while handling the funeral arrangements.
Xu Shaoqiang’s life was marked by a series of high-profile relationships and marriages. His first wife was Zhang Xiaofeng, whom he married in 1975 but divorced in 1979. He then married He Shukuan (Joe) in 1980, but their marriage ended in divorce in 1986.
During his second marriage, Xu Shaoqiang met Xue Li, who was only 15 years old at the time, on the set of the movie ”Ghost Raising” in 1983. Xue Li gave birth to two sons, Xu Weidong and Xu Yuankun, and a daughter, Xu Yunkun, but she and Xu Shaoqiang never registered their marriage. Their relationship ended in 1988, leaving Xue Li to raise their children as a single mother.
Xue Li, in a past interview, recalled her time with Xu Shaoqiang and the challenges she faced as a single mother. She expressed no regrets about giving up her career to raise her children and eventually returned to work after their birth.
Upon hearing the news of Xu Shaoqiang’s passing, Xue Li took to social media to bid him farewell, writing, “I wish Mr. Xu Shaoqiang a safe journey.” Netizens responded with messages of condolence and appreciation for Xue Li’s kindness.
Xu Shaoqiang’s daughter, Xu Yuankun, also mourned her father’s passing, expressing her love for him on social media.
Xu Shaoqiang’s life was marked by a series of tumultuous relationships and personal struggles, but his legacy lives on through his children and the impact he had on the entertainment industry.
