Sylvia Chang Discusses Future Plans After Golden Horse Awards
On November 24, actress Sylvia Chang shared her feelings after competing for the Best Actress award at the Golden Horse Awards with her film “Daughter’s Daughter.” Though she did not win, she expressed relief and a desire to retire from acting to focus on younger talent.
Chang portrayed a mother in “Daughter’s Daughter,” influencing her daughters significantly. Despite not winning, she feels no regret and is thankful for her career. She attended a celebration party with director Ang Lee and Golden Horse Awards Chairman Lee Pingbin, where she reiterated her intention to step back from acting roles and work behind the scenes.
She emphasized the importance of supporting younger actors, saying she is glad to play meaningful roles at her age. Chang praised Liu Ye, another nominee, for his promising future in acting.
Liu Ye, who was nominated for a supporting actress award, remained optimistic about her career despite not winning. She expressed gratitude for the support from industry figures who attended the celebration.
The film “Daughter’s Daughter” is currently in theaters.
