Syria Announces Ceasefire with Kurdish forces
The Syrian government declared a four-day ceasefire with the Kurdish-led syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) as its army continued to gain ground in the northeast. The army had made rapid advances in the region prior to the agreement.
The ceasefire began at 8pm (17:00 GMT) on Tuesday, according to the Syrian Army.
Despite the truce, the SDF reported continued attacks by government-allied forces. They have accepted the ceasefire, but maintain that fighting has not fully stopped.
