Somerset, the 2023 T20 champions and last year’s runners-up, showcased their prowess at Sophia Gardens. A strong seam attack, lead by Matt Henry, Riley Meredith, and Capt.Lewis Gregory, dismantled Glamorgan, reducing them to 49-5 in the ninth over. Glamorgan’s innings never recovered, finishing at 130-9. Tom Kohler-Cadmore’s 38 and Gregory’s winning run sealed the victory for Somerset with 20 balls to spare.
In the London derby, Middlesex Capt. Stevie Eskinazi’s decision to have Surrey bat first backfired as Jacks dominated. Despite falling three runs short of a century, Jacks helped Surrey reach 194-8. Middlesex struggled in reply, losing wickets consistently. Mitchell Santner, New Zealand’s white-ball skipper, took 3-25. Jacks then claimed the final wicket,bowling Middlesex out for 119,securing a comprehensive Surrey T20 cricket win.
