Surrey clinched a dramatic, rain-affected victory over Lancashire in an 11-over cricket match at Emirates old Trafford. The game, already delayed, saw Surrey edge ahead by just two runs via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method when heavy downpours halted play.
Lancashire had set a target of 86, and the game hung in the balance when rain began during Surrey’s chase. With surrey at 53-4 in the eighth over, needing 60 to tie on DLS, Scholfield propelled her team ahead. she smashed Darcey Carter for a six and then added three more runs, pushing Surrey to 62.
