FRANKFURT, Germany (May 3, 2025) – Taco⁤ Bell’s highly anticipated ⁤expansion into Germany appears to have⁤ faltered, ​casting doubt on the⁢ opening of a planned restaurant in Frankfurt.

German Rollout Delayed, Possibly Canceled

Initial reports last year indicated ‍that the U.S. ⁤fast-food chain would launch in ‍Germany, with Frankfurt among the first locations. Though, those plans are now‍ in‌ question. Citing internal documents, ⁤ Wirtschaftswoche reports that the American​ company has called off its expansion into the⁢ German market.

The German launch had ‌already ​been pushed back ‌to the summer of 2025. Ilkem Sahin heads the franchise company responsible for the German Taco Bell locations. Sahin,‍ who ⁤also represents KFC and Pizza Hut in Germany, has faced controversy. ⁤In late 2024, employees of his fast-food ⁤chains made serious allegations regarding “dubious business practices,”⁣ according to Wirtschaftswoche.​ The report cited whistleblowers alleging unpaid suppliers and⁤ embezzlement.
