Details of the Incident
A fatal hit-and-run incident occurred in Sector-46, chandigarh, on October 15, 2025, resulting in the death of Sojef and serious injuries to her sister, Isha. The sisters, residents of the Budail area of Chandigarh, were struck by a speeding black Thar vehicle while waiting for transportation after leaving college.
According to reports, the driver of the Thar fled the scene instantly following the collision. Bystanders rushed both sisters to a local hospital, where Sojef was pronounced dead. isha is currently receiving treatment at the hospital in Sector-32.
Investigation Underway
authorities have identified the vehicle as registered in Chandigarh, with a listed address in Sector-21. Though, investigators have determined that the registered owner no longer resides at that location.
The Chandigarh Police are actively pursuing the driver, utilizing CCTV footage to aid in their investigation. The search is ongoing as of October 15, 2025.
