A new pharmaceutical industry union is forming in France to advocate for the sectorS interests.
French budget constraints and pressure from Donald Trump to encourage pharmaceutical investment in the United States led to a split within the existing French drug lobby, Leem. Fifteen member companies have left Leem due to disagreements over strategy. Seven of those companies are French laboratories, according to Le Figaro. Le Figaro reports Trump claimed to have threatened Emmanuel Macron with tariffs to raise drug prices.
