Lazzat’s Victory Steals show at Royal Ascot; Princess Catherine ‍Absent

Royal ascot⁢ witnessed a dramatic turn as Lazzat, a French runner, secured victory in the Queen elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes on ⁣Saturday. The win was not without incident, as Lazzat unseated jockey James Doyle shortly after crossing the finish line.Doyle was uninjured as handlers quickly contained the horse.

King Charles III⁢ and Queen Camilla presented the trophy to Lazzat’s owners, braving​ the heat ⁤during the ceremony. the royal family’s presence​ highlighted the event, tho Princess Catherine’s absence was noted. Prince William attended with the king and queen, arriving ​just before his 43rd birthday.

The Princess of Wales,Catherine,was not in attendance. A ⁣friend saeid she would have enjoyed the day, but she is pacing herself ⁤amid a UK heatwave. She recently attended Trooping the Color‌ and Garter​ events.

“He’s a funny character,” trainer ⁢Jerome Reynier said. “That is why he is ​Lazzat,and he is our champion.”
