Tai Po Soars to New Heights: 75th National Day Celebration Takes Flight with Dazzling Milk Dragon and Multidimensional Parade
Tai Po Celebrates the 75th Anniversary of National Day with a Spectacular Sea, Land, and Air Parade
Tai Po is set to celebrate the 75th anniversary of National Day with a grand Sea, Land, and Air Parade, featuring the first-ever “Lam Chuen River Water Stage Show with Stage Fireworks Effects” and “Lam Chuen River Water Market” in Hong Kong.
The event will showcase Tai Po’s unique charm, highlighting its five regional characteristics of “tradition, wishing, youth, sports, and nature.” The celebration will include a scenic parade, a National Day market, and a “night dragon” that has been included in the intangible cultural heritage list.
The highlight of the event is the “Milk Dragon” drone parade, composed of 500 drones, which will make its final appearance above the Lam Tsuen River in Tai Po. The drones will form patterns with Tai Po characteristics, including shuttlecock, football, and dragon boat.
The “Lam Tsuen River Water Stage Show with Stage Fireworks Effects” is the first of its kind in Hong Kong. A boy and a girl will play the roles of Olympic gold medalists Zhang Jialang and Jiang Minxi, performing swordsmanship on the water stage. A little “Hua Dan” will also perform Cantonese opera.
The land parade will consist of teams from schools and local groups, pushing small wishing trees and panda dolls representing Lam Tsuen, as well as giant Guanyin dolls. A section of Lam Tsuen River under the Guangfu Bridge will be hung with lights with the word “75” to symbolize the 75th anniversary of National Day.
The event is co-organized by Tai Po District Office, Tai Po District Council, New Territories Federation of Societies Tai Po District Committee, and Tai Po National Day Celebration Preparatory Committee, among others.
Partner organizations include Tai Po Arts Center, Tai Po School Liaison Committee, Wing Fu Containers, Citybus Limited, Tai Po Po Kau Hui Public School, Anglican Bishop Mok Sau Tseng Secondary School, and Luo Ting Bang Secondary School.
The celebration promises to be a fun and exciting event, showcasing Tai Po’s unique charm and cultural heritage.
