Taihan⁤ Cable Completes First Fiber Optic Cable Factory in Kuwait

Taihan Cable ‌& ⁣Solution Co ⁣has completed the first fiber⁣ optic cable factory in Kuwait, in a joint​ project with Rank General Trading & Contracting, to build its strong ⁣presence in the growing mobile communications infrastructure market in the region.

The factory is expected to start commercial operation from the middle of this month after completing the process of‍ validating its product. It will be operated by Taihan Kuwait, a joint venture between the South ⁤Korean company⁣ and the construction and trading company in Kuwait.

Located within the ⁣Mina Abdulla Industrial Area in the south-eastern​ part of Kuwait City ‌on⁢ a plot of land measuring 5,000 square meters, the factory is ‍Kuwait’s ⁤first fiber optic ⁢cable manufacturing company.

Taihan‍ Cable strives to capture the growing optical⁢ cable market in the Middle East by localizing the products, which Kuwait ‍relies on imports⁣ for all its needs. Kuwait is increasing infrastructure investment, including the 5G network that includes the Internet of Thing and AI, under the ‍New Kuwait Vision 2035 project with the aim ‍of ⁢transforming into a financial and trade hub.

Taihan Cable expects the new factory to act as its production ‍base in the Middle ⁣East. It seeks to ⁣strengthen its⁣ presence in the region, including Saudi Arabia‍ and Qatar, by leveraging its business network that has supplied cables throughout the Middle East for over 50 years.

The factory is set up with the same production lines and product testing equipment as ​its flagship factory in Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province. Taihan Cable ⁤also operates a high voltage ‌power grid production facility in Saudi Arabia, the only factory for the​ product in the country.
