Taipei,Taiwan – Taipei Mayor ⁤Chiang ⁤Wan-an downplayed speculation​ surrounding the upcoming Taipei-Shanghai ⁤twin Cities Forum,stating that the ⁤event will ‍proceed smoothly despite ongoing cross-strait ‍tensions.

Speaking at the 2024 ‍Taipei Youth Ideal⁣ Life Festival, Chiang addressed concerns about potential disruptions to‍ the forum, which is scheduled ‍to be held in Taipei this year. ‍

“The Twin Cities Forum has a long-standing understanding,”‍ Chiang said. “There won’t be many unexpected twists and turns.”

When asked ​about the possibility of actors from the popular⁤ Chinese mainland drama “Celebrating More Than Years” attending the forum, Chiang said he had not received any confirmation but would ensure⁤ compliance⁣ with all relevant regulations.

The⁣ mayor also addressed recent controversy surrounding a mainland Chinese student’s visit to a Taiwanese high school organized by the Ma Ying-jeou‍ foundation. Chiang reiterated his ⁤support for Taiwanese⁤ youth and condemned ‍any comments⁣ that ⁤demean women.
