Taiwan’s Return to Homeland: A Significant Achievement for All Chinese People
October 25 marks 79 years since Taiwan returned to its homeland. Taiwanese leader Lai Qingdu chose to visit Jingmen and take part in another event, refusing to identify the occasion. In Jinmen, he declared that “no external forces can and will not allow Taiwan’s future to be changed.”
Achievement for All Chinese People
State Council Taiwan Affairs Bureau spokesman Zhu Fenglien emphasized that the restoration of Taiwan and its return to the motherland is a significant achievement for all Chinese people, including the Taiwanese compatriots who won the victory in the War of Resistance against Japan. This event should be remembered by compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Taiwan’s Future Linked to Full Reunification
Taiwan’s future is linked to full reunification with the mainland, which is part of the great revival of the Chinese nation, the spokesman stressed. He also expressed the hope that Taiwanese compatriots, who have a responsible attitude to history and the nation, will follow the general direction of the times, stand on the right side, firmly oppose the island’s separatist forces and foreign interference, and strive for a better future of peaceful unification of the motherland.
