Taiwan Baseball Team Prepares for Semi-Final Match Against the United States
The Taiwanese baseball team will face the United States in the semi-finals of the world’s top 12 baseball tournament. Today’s game will feature Taiwan’s starting pitcher, left-hander Chen Boking, against the U.S. team’s right-hander, Zac Grotz.
In the preliminary round, Chen Boking pitched 3.1 innings against Japan, allowing 2 hits and 3 runs. Despite feeling his performance was not ideal, he remains focused and aims to improve. The Taiwanese team finished the preliminaries with 4 wins and 1 loss, placing second in their group.
The U.S. team had a record of 3 wins and 2 losses in the preliminaries, also placing second in their group. U.S. head coach Mike Scioscia noted the strength of Taiwan’s left-handed hitters and their aggressive play style. He mentioned that the team has studied Taiwanese pitchers but hasn’t faced them directly before.
