Ex-Footballer Charged With Assaulting Sugababes Singer Keisha Buchanan

Taiwo Leo Atieno, 39, a former professional footballer, appeared in court via video link too face eight charges, including assault and coercive control of Sugababes singer Keisha Buchanan. Atieno, formerly with Luton Town and the Kenyan national team, is accused of offenses spanning approximately 13 years.
Atieno, of Brixton, South London, is charged with assault causing actual bodily harm to Buchanan between 2012 and 2015. He also faces charges of controlling or coercive behavior. The charges allege that Atieno interfered with buchanan’s mail, restricted her from wearing red lipstick, and controlled her finances, gym visits, and shower schedule.

During the Harrow Crown Court hearing at Southwark, the judge granted Atieno conditional bail. He is prohibited from contacting Buchanan, entering Barnet, and must surrender his passport.He is scheduled to enter a plea in August.
