The ⁣airport runway marathon will be held again on​ November 17 after 26 years.

The ⁤”Standard New Airport Marathon ’98” started‍ in 1998 from the Tsing Ma Bridge and ran to the runway of the then newly completed Hong Kong International Airport at Chek Lap Kok. After 26 years, in order to celebrate the opening of‌ the ⁢three-runway system at ⁤the ‍end of the year and the 75th anniversary of National Day, the Hong Kong Airport Authority,‌ Standard Chartered Bank and the Hong Kong Athletics Federation, China, jointly organized ​the ⁤” Airport ⁢‧⁤ Marathon: Three Runway System International 10-Kilometer Race”, held‍ in held on November 17, everyone ⁤will be ⁣able to⁤ run wild​ on three tracks.

There are around 12,000 ⁢places and open registration will start on September 23.

The event includes a “10 kilometer race”, a “5 kilometer race”, a “3 kilometer race” and a ‍”10 kilometer wheelchair race“. with a total of around 12,000 places.⁤ “Eligible runners”, runners⁣ who have taken part in the “Standard New Airport Marathon ’98″⁣ and airport‌ workers can give priority registration ‍on September 17 and 18 Public registration by lottery will ​officially start at 2pm on September⁢ 23 .The starting and ending point ⁤of the event is the airport runway, which is ​within ‌the restricted area of ​​the airport.
