Benin’s Cotonou Airport Platform Modernizes with New Ground Handling Equipment
The Aircraft Handling Services Company (AHS Benin) has introduced new modern ground handling equipment at the Bernardin Cardinal Gantin International Airport in Cadjèhoun, Benin.

The new equipment includes a Trepel elevator for unloading cargo, a Cobus 300 type bus for transporting passengers, a Holdem belt for unloading luggage, two Shantui type electric forklifts, two GT5D 60 Kwh electric tractors, an electric toilet attendant, two Mercedes Benz type EQV VIP vehicles, a Trepel electric tractor, an electric charger, and baggage trolleys. This modern electrical equipment is estimated to be worth 800 million FCFA.
According to Adama Mboup, Managing Director of AHS Benin, the company’s efforts to modernize its fleet are part of the Beninese State’s plan to create a healthy and ecological environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The company plans to introduce more modern equipment in 2025.
The Director General of the National Civil Aviation Agency of Benin, Karl LEGBA, and the representative of the Minister for the Environment and Live Transport, praised the procurement of this electrical equipment, which responds to the National Carbon Reduction Plan. They expressed hope that the efforts of AHS Benin will continue and that the entire platform of the Cotonou airport will be a model for the implementation of the carbon reduction plan.

AHS Benin has committed to providing modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly ground handling equipment to the Cotonou airport platform. The company has acquired several modern equipment, including the TMX-450-45B PUSH AFTER TLD type equipment, which can push and pull all types of larger and medium aircraft.
