Perigee Aerospace Inc., a South Korean small space launch vehicle startup, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Quantum Aero to develop advanced unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for national defense.
Quantum Aero, a specialist importer of artificial intelligence (AI) drones, is also the exclusive importer of American combat drone manufacturer Shield AI in South Korea. The partnership aims to leverage the expertise of both companies to create cutting-edge UAVs.
The collaboration will focus on the development of advanced UAVs, localization of key components, and satellite communications systems for national defense. Perigee will integrate its control technology for launch vehicles with the hardware provided by Quantum Aero, engine design, and manufacturing technology for component localization.
This partnership is expected to enhance the capabilities of both companies and contribute to the development of South Korea’s defense industry.
