Taking to the Skies: Satena Soars to Cauca’s Pacific Coast, Connecting Timbiquí, Popayán, and Guapi
Satena Expands Operations to Strengthen Connectivity in Western Colombia
The state airline started operations on nine regional routes to strengthen connectivity in the west of the country.
After many years, Satena’s company returned to Cauca. On 23 September this year, he established nine routes to key regional destinations in the west of the country. The new flights seek to promote economic and tourist development in areas such as Timbiquí, Popayán, Guapi, in Cauca; Neiva, San Vicente del Caguán, Condoto, Bahía Solano, Nuquí, Pitalito and Cali, in order to facilitate air mobility for passengers and goods.
Satena’s president, Major General Óscar Zuluaga Castaño, said: “This is an airline with a clear social mission: to facilitate the integration of Colombia’s most remote communities. With the opening of these routes, we reaffirm our commitment to connect Colombians, promote regional development and strengthen territorial cohesion.”
New Routes and Frequencies
The new routes will be operated on B-1900 aircraft with space for 19 passengers and will take place at the following times:
Frequency starts September 23
- Cali-Timbiquí: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 6:10 am
- Timbiquí-Cali: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 11:30 am
- Timbiquí-Popayán: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 7:20 am
- Popayán-Timbiquí: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 10:30 am
- Popayán-Guapi: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 8:20 am
- Guapi-Popayán: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 9:25 am
- Cali-Neiva: Monday: 3:30pm, Wednesday and Friday: 12:50pm
- Neiva-Cali: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 4:50pm
- Cali-Condoto: Monday: 12:40 pm and Thursday: 8:00 am
- Condoto-Cali: Monday: 2:05 pm and Thursday: 9:25 am
Starting September 24, the following flights will be added:
- Cali-Bahía Solano: Tuesday: 7:00 am and Saturday: 8:00 am
- Bahía Solano-Cali: Tuesday: 8:35 am and Saturday: 09:35 am
- Cali-Nuquí: Tuesday: 10:10am and Saturday: 3:10pm
- Nuquí-Cali: Tuesday: 11:10am and Saturday: 12:40pm
- Cali-Pitalito: Tuesday: 1:10pm and Thursday: 11:00pm
- Pitalito-Cali: Tuesday: 2:45pm and Thursday: 12:35pm
September 25:
- Neiva-San Vicente del Caguán: Wednesday and Friday 2:15 pm
- San Vicente del Caguán-Neiva: Wednesday and Friday 3:25 pm
Ticket prices start from $182,000 on Satena’s website and from $203,300 at in-person outlets.
With this expansion, Satena reaffirms its commitment to improving the country’s connectivity, focusing on facilitating access to the most isolated regions and promoting inclusive and sustainable growth.
In the case of Cauca, the new frequencies are due to the management carried out by the Cauca Chamber of Commerce, which had been demanding this connectivity to promote tourism to the Pacific Coast, in addition, access to seafood and other seafood products a rich region for Popayán gastronomy.
