The graduates, who received their diplomas from the ICT Minister, are ready to contribute to the department’s digital transformation.
In a ceremony held on 29 August this year, at the Guillermo Valencia Theater in Popayán, the Minister of ICT, Mauricio Lizcano, presented the diplomas to ten Technology Campers, representing 963 graduates, who certify that they have completed the Tech boot camps Talent successfully, managing to improve their technological skills, thanks to their commitment and dedication, which means they are ready to contribute to Cauca’s digital transformation.
Talento Tech is an innovative project that aims to train more than 113,000 Colombians in all regions, and which will start next Monday available in the 32 capitals of the country. Cauca and Nariño, who started activities in the first semester, have already certified the first Technology Campers.
The program has five areas of training. Among the 963 certified Caucanos, 283 graduated in programming, 264 in data analysis, 262 in artificial intelligence, 111 in cloud architecture and 43 in BlockChain. Through intensive training in advanced technology skills, soft skills, English proficiency, and project development based on real cases, Colombia improves the human capital support needed by the IT industry to advance its innovation and technology processes.
For his part, Minister Lizcano said that today’s graduation contributes to the MinTIC’s goal of training 4,000 people in Cauca in 2024 and 10,000 by 2026. He also noted that the Ministry is investing $178 billion in the department, distributed in connectivity projects for homes, community areas, schools and artificial intelligence training centres.
Lizcano also thanked the mayor, Juan Carlos Muñoz Bravo, for his good offices in obtaining the lot where one of the two Training Centers in Artificial Intelligence will operate, which the Ministry of ICT has planned for the department of Cauca . “Not later than next Monday, the process with which we want to start this important project in this city must be signed,” said Lizcano.
In turn, the mayor of Popayán, Muñoz Bravo, highlighted the management of the minister, which allows the training of young people in digital skills, which gives them job opportunities in a municipality that needs them. He pointed out that a degree is not needed to aim for a job or a position in the field of digital skills, and that the world needs around 65 million workers in the field of information and communication technologies.
Ten Technology Campers were responsible for receiving the diplomas of the 963 graduates in digital skills.Currently, this program, which offers free training under the bootcamp methodology, continues to prepare more young people to make each region a solid reference for certified talent in ICT subjects, which offer more opportunities in the syllabus.
Not just young people
Not only did young people graduate in digital skills, but older people too. In this regard, Minister Lizcano said: “Today is a very special day for Cauca and the country, being able to graduate these people who, regardless of their age, became digital experts thanks to the intensive training this.”
