Tame Impala fans received a surprise treat from Kevin Parker during a DJ set at Barcelona’s Nitsa Club.Parker debuted a brand-new song, signaling the group’s first album as 2020’s The Slow Rush. A Tame Impala tour is also anticipated, wiht details coming in the next few weeks.
Before playing the unreleased track, Parker told the crowd they were the first to hear it. Musically, the song has more in common with the danceable pop sound he crafted for Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism than Tame Impala’s earlier psychedelic rock.
Lyrically,the new Tame Impala music seems to explore themes of a relationship’s end. the lyrics include, “everybody knows how I feel about you / so you can act surprised if you need to / adn I am still your friend if you think it’s worth it / it just means that I’ll see you when I see you.”
