Taranovas Pizza Opens First U.S. Location in Columbus, Georgia

Columbus, Georgia welcomed a new dining option on Friday, February 20, 2026, with the opening of Taranovas Pizza, a restaurant chain originating in India. The franchise is located in the former Bluewater Grill space at 4640 Warm Springs Road, according to reports.

The restaurant is co-owned by sisters-in-law Palak Patel and Vishwa Patel, who reportedly decided to venture into the restaurant business as a departure from their family’s existing gas station holdings. Taranovas Pizza aims to offer a unique culinary experience by fusing American, Italian, and Indian flavors.

Palak Patel spoke with the Ledger-Enquirer prior to the grand opening, discussing the new business. The restaurant’s opening marks the first U.S. Franchise for the chain.

A grand opening event is scheduled for Saturday, February 21, 2026, with a special offer: the first 100 customers will receive free pizza. K92.7 Livie will be broadcasting remotely from the location during the grand opening.

The arrival of Taranovas Pizza adds to the growing and diversifying food scene in Columbus, Georgia’s third-largest city. The city is experiencing growth in various sectors, including a developing financial and business district and expansion of Columbus State University’s presence downtown. The area is also supported by the significant economic impact of nearby Fort Benning, the Army’s Maneuver Center of Excellence.

The Ledger-Enquirer, which has been reporting on the city’s development since its founding in 1828, covered the opening of Taranovas Pizza. The publication provides 24/7 news coverage to the Chattahoochee Valley and East Alabama.
