The resurrection of Yuki’s Revenge
Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has brought a long-dormant piece of “Kill Bill” lore to life with “The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge,” an eight-minute animated short film created in collaboration with Epic Games for the popular live service game “Fortnite”. The short debuted within the game on November 30, 2025, and features motion capture technology combined with Unreal Engine to recreate Uma Thurman’s performance as The bride.

From Licensing Pitch to Lost Chapter
Tarantino recounted the project’s origins at a launch event held at his Vista Theater in Los Angeles. Initially, he anticipated a discussion about licensing “Kill Bill” characters for use within “Fortnite”, as reported by Variety. However,Epic Games surprised him with a different proposition.
“They [Epic] got together with me to talk about some situation where my characters and Fortnite do something kind of groovy. So I show up at the meeting thinking that we’re just going to talk about that they want to license the characters, and they want to get my ideas about what will be a fun thing to do.”

Epic Games inquired if Tarantino possessed a self-contained story, roughly 8-12 minutes in length, that could integrate his iconic characters into the “Fortnite” universe.
Introducing Yuki: A Cut character Reimagined
The resulting short film resurrects a chapter excised from the original first draft of “Kill Bill.” This “lost chapter” introduces Yuki, the twin sister of gogo Yubari (played by Chiaki Kuriyama). Yuki was ill on the night of the massacre at the House of Blue Leaves and departed before the violence unfolded.
tarantino explained that the chapter was removed primarily due to concerns about pacing and the sheer volume of action. He stated:
“It was too crazy, too violent, and just too much action… it never even made second drafts. I just didn’t think we could pull off. and Yuki has been a figment of my imagination for over 20 years… I want both the ‘Kill bill’ fan and the Fortnite fan to be totally effing happy about this collaboration.”
