Joe Jonas Reflects on ‘South park’ Jonas Brothers Parody

Joe Jonas has spoken about‍ the South Park ⁤parody of the Jonas Brothers,revealing that his brothers,Nick and Kevin,didn’t share his positive ⁤reaction. The animated show, known for its satirical takes on pop culture, targeted the boy band during⁢ their rise to fame on the Disney Channel.

The⁤ 2009 episode, titled The Ring, aired during the show’s ⁣13th season. It referenced the film Jonas Brothers: the 3D Concert Experience and depicted the⁤ Disney corporation exploiting the band’s ⁤image to sell sex to⁣ young female viewers while maintaining a wholesome ⁤image thru purity rings. One scene showed ⁣Mickey Mouse violently punishing‍ the Jonas Brothers for disobedience.

In an upcoming episode of Mythical Kitchen’s ⁣Last meals, Joe Jonas discussed his reaction to the South park episode.

“I think I ⁢was the only brother that loved it,” he said. “I thought it⁢ was hilarious, as ⁣I watched South Park and I was like, ‘this is so⁤ funny, I know what they’re doing,⁣ they make fun of everyone!’”

He added that being parodied by a comic show is “usually a sign that they give a shit, and they care, and it’s funny.” He considered it “an honor to get⁤ my ass kicked by Mickey.”

Jonas concluded, “Now we just laugh [about it]. We love ⁢that. I think ⁣it’s so great. Definitely a claim-to-fame for me.”

Earlier this year, a trailer ⁣for South Park’s 27th season was released, which is set ⁢to air from ⁢July 9. UK viewers can stream new⁣ episodes on Paramount+.
