Taskmaster is returning to Channel 4 for its 21st series, with the premiere scheduled for Thursday, 9 April 2026. The new season will air at 9pm, continuing the long-running format where five celebrities compete in a series of random challenges to impress the Taskmaster, Greg Davies and his assistant, Alex Horne.

The cast for series 21 has been confirmed as a lineup of comedians and industry professionals. The five contestants taking part in the competition are Amy Gledhill, Armando Iannucci, Joanna Page, Joel Dommett, and Kumail Nanjiani.

Cast Spotlight: Amy Gledhill

Among the new contestants is 38-year-old comedian and actress Amy Gledhill. Gledhill began her career in various comedy sketch groups and received the Caroline Aherne Bursary in 2018, an award intended to support new comedy talent that provided her with mentoring from a BBC editor and a cash prize.

Between 2020 and 2021, Gledhill wrote and starred in the CBBC children’s sketch show Big Fat Like. She also appeared as the character Leslie in the BBC Two comedy series Alma’s Not Normal starting in 2021.

In 2024, Gledhill won the award for best comedy show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. She also appeared as a participant in the second season of the Prime Video series Last One Laughing.

Series 21 will feature an American diner theme. For the location-based tasks, production will primarily take place at Hampton Court Palace.
