Tata Power’s TP Solar Crosses 4 GW Solar Module ‌Production Mark

TP Solar​ Ltd.,a⁣ subsidiary of Tata ‌Power Renewable‍ Energy Ltd., has announced it surpassed 4 GW⁢ of⁣ solar module manufacturing capacity at its plant in Tamil Nadu. The plant has produced 4049 MW⁤ of ⁢solar modules and 1441 MW⁤ of solar cells as of May 31, 2025.

The company is strategically scaling up production, targeting ‌3.7 GW of‍ solar cell output and 3.725 ⁣GW ‍of module production in fiscal year 2026. This expansion reinforces ⁢its‌ dedication to supporting India’s ⁤transition to clean energy and boosting domestic solar module manufacturing.

Built to ‍meet Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) norms, the⁣ facility ‍manufactures next-generation Mono ⁣PERC and advanced TopCon modules. It uses​ cutting-edge automated and AI-driven technologies. The increased production aligns with Tata Power’s​ objective to strengthen India’s solar supply chain, reduce reliance on imports, and⁣ accelerate the deployment of ⁣clean energy projects ⁢nationwide.This positions Tata Power⁣ as a key player in solar ‍module manufacturing.

Tata Power’s solar module manufacturing‌ plant in ‍Tamil Nadu reaches 4 GW production capacity.

The facility already supplies panels for Tata power’s projects, including utility-scale solar ​farms, hybrid energy parks, distributed rooftop systems,‍ and third-party installations across India. With a rated capacity of‌ 4.3 ​GW expected in FY26, ​the plant will support ​India’s goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel ‌capacity⁢ by 2030.
