Former NFL receiver Golden Tate has shed new light on his long-simmering feud with Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey. The details emerged during Tate’s recent appearance on the “Bussin’ with the Boys” podcast, hosted by ex-NFL players Taylor Lewan and Will Compton.
The tension between Tate and Ramsey traces back to a personal matter: Ramsey’s past relationship with Tate’s sister, which ended while she was pregnant with their second child. Tate suggested on the podcast that his sister “wasn’t treated the way she should have been,” igniting his protective instincts.
The feud escalated publicly in 2019 when Tate responded to a fan’s tweet referencing ramsey’s new relationship. The fan suggested Tate should confront Ramsey, to which Tate replied, “He know he gonna have to see me.” This set the stage for their eventual on-field clash.
The anticipated meeting occurred during a game between Tate’s New York Giants and Ramsey’s Los Angeles Rams in 2020. According to Tate, the two players exchanged words throughout the game. Despite the verbal sparring,Tate said he avoided penalties or fines. The Rams ultimately won the game 17-9,but the real conflict erupted afterward.
Following the game, Tate approached Ramsey, leading to a physical altercation that involved both teams. Tate recalled ducking a swing from Ramsey and attempting to tackle him before the players were separated.
Ramsey addressed the fight in a 2022 podcast appearance, stating, “On sight, we knew what we was gonna do… that’s his sister, that’s what he supposed to do, too. But you mind your business, too. This is me, too, now.”
Despite the lingering tension, Tate indicated that he and Ramsey have found a way to coexist for the sake of their children. “We haven’t talked, but I think we both kind of have agreed to not be knuckleheads for the betterment of his daughters and my nieces, and that’s kind of where we stand,” Tate said, emphasizing a truce for the kids’ well-being.
