NEW YORK — On one side of the Citi Field visitor’s clubhouse, there was a balloon display as reliever Taylor Rogers celebrated 10 years of major league service, a milestone reached during the Minnesota Twins’ series against the New York Mets in April 2026.
Rogers, a left-handed pitcher born December 17, 1990, in Denver, Colorado, made his MLB debut on April 14, 2016, for the Twins, marking the beginning of a decade-long career that has seen him pitch for six different organizations. Over that span, he has compiled a 31–36 win–loss record with a 3.34 earned run average and 633 strikeouts across 549.1 innings pitched.
Throughout his career, Rogers has played for the Minnesota Twins (2016–2021, 2026–present), San Diego Padres (2022), Milwaukee Brewers (2022), San Francisco Giants (2023–2024), Cincinnati Reds (2025), and Chicago Cubs (2025). He returned to the Twins organization in 2026 after being traded from the Cubs during the offseason.
Rogers was selected to the American League All-Star team in 2021, recognizing his performance as one of the league’s top relievers that season. His twin brother, Tyler Rogers, is also a professional baseball pitcher who has played in the majors for the San Francisco Giants.
Before turning professional, Rogers played college baseball at the University of Kentucky for the Wildcats from 2010 to 2012, posting a 13–18 record with a 5.35 ERA and 172 strikeouts in 249 innings pitched. He graduated from Chatfield Senior High School in Littleton, Colorado, in 2009, where he was named first-team All-State and first-team All-Colorado in 2008 after recording a 5–2 record, 1.98 ERA, and 82 strikeouts in 53 innings.
Off the field, Rogers has been involved in community initiatives through the Rogers Family Foundation, which he started to support firefighters’ mental wellness needs. In September 2019, he hosted a dinner for Minneapolis firefighters at Fire Station 6. His efforts were recognized in 2021 when he received the Carl R. Pohlad Outstanding Community Service Award.
As of April 2026, Rogers remains an active member of the Twins’ bullpen, contributing to a pitching staff that includes fellow left-hander Tyler Rogers and emerging prospects such as Royce Lewis, whose return to the lineup has been noted in regional sports coverage. The Twins were engaged in a series against the Mets at Citi Field when Rogers reached his 10-year MLB milestone.
