BUENOS⁣ AIRES,⁤ Argentina – The second round of the TCR south America series, scheduled for next week, has⁢ been moved from Posadas to Oberá due to ongoing construction at the Posadas‌ circuit, organizers announced.

Extensive work ‌had been⁤ underway at the ⁣Posadas track in anticipation of hosting a TCR event in ⁤2025. However, with‍ the construction site​ still active and less⁤ than two weeks remaining before the race,⁤ TCR South America officials decided to relocate the event approximately 100 kilometers east to the Autódromo Ciudad de ​Oberá.

The​ Oberá circuit, also located in the⁣ Misiones province, has previously hosted races in other series,‌ including TC2000, Formula Renault 2.0,⁢ and Turismo Nacional Argentine.

Federico Punteri, president of TCR South America,⁢ acknowledged the efforts⁣ to complete‌ the ⁤Posadas circuit‍ in ⁣time. “All the collaborators⁣ made the utmost effort to conclude⁢ the work; however, to do it ‍in the⁤ best way, there was not enough time,” Punteri said⁢ in a statement. “The motoring‍ in⁢ Misiones is unique, so we decided to go to Oberá.”

Punteri added, “We had ⁢a complete‌ calendar from the‍ beginning⁢ of the year to ⁣make everything predictable with our drivers, teams, sponsors, and public. Unfortunately, in this case, we had to make a change, but I’m sure it ‌will be one of the best races of ​the​ year. It​ is worth ​highlighting all the work done in Misiones, keeping ⁤the category within the province.”
