Teacher Caught Secretly Filming Upskirt Photos of Students and Colleagues
A 36-year-old married primary school teacher was caught by the police on suspicion of secretly filming the petticoats of female passers-by on an escalator in a shopping mall above Mong Kok MTR station.
Teacher Pleads Guilty to 13 Counts of Upskirt Photos
Defendant Liang Rongshen (36) was charged with five counts of conduct contrary to public morals and 13 counts of illegal photography and viewing private parts. He pleaded guilty to 13 counts, and the remaining five counts of illegally photographing private parts were allowed to be filed in court without prosecution.
Victims Include Female Employees of the Space Museum
The facts of the case show that the defendant worked as a teacher at Tin Shui Wai and Quarry Bay schools from 2018 to August 2022. On July 20, 2022, he followed Woman X from Exit B4 of Mong Kok MTR Station to the escalator in the basement of TOP Shopping Mall. During this time, the defendant put his mobile phone under X’s skirt.
Teacher Admits to Taking Photos Due to Work Pressure
When the defendant was arrested, he said, “I was under a lot of pressure at work, so I took a photo of a girl’s skirt first.” He later admitted that his cell phone had secretly taken skirt photos of several victims from May 2021 to July 2022.
283 Upskirt Photos Found on Defendant’s Phone
The police seized a total of 283 photos involved in the case, involving 10 victims (4 elementary school students who teach, 3 unknown primary and secondary school students, colleague Y, unknown woman X, space museum employee Z).
Teacher Sentenced to 16 Months in Prison
Judge Yan Shunyi sentenced the defendant to 16 months in prison, stating that every time the defendant looked at the photos on his mobile phone, it was harmful to the victim and his behavior also violated good faith.
