Cycling World Record, Formula Fixed, and New Gear Unveiled

Lael Wilcox’s remarkable 108-day, 12-hour, and 12-minute bicycle circumnavigation is now available to watch on YouTube. The film, “Lael Rides around the World,” documents her journey, supported by friends, fans, and Rugile kaladyte. SRAM helped with select showings of the film, which premiered in April at Sea Otter.

Formula Fixed is launching its inaugural Pro Series in winter/spring 2026, preceded by qualifying events this summer. Described as a blend of fixed-gear street racing, gaming, and entertainment, the series aims to redefine cycling. Qualifying events will be held in Washington, D.C. (Chocolate City Criterium, August 17-18) and the Bay Area (Oakland Grand Prix, September 14-15). Athletes 16 and older with fixed gear race experience can register for $100.

Quintana Roo is partnering with 4iiii to offer power meter upgrades on select bike models.This addresses the frequent absence of power meters on factory-built Shimano bikes. The upgrade option will be available on the V-PR, X-PR, SRfive, SRsix, and Service Course models.

Nonplus components has introduced the ULTRA hub, claiming it to be the lightest centerlock hub globally at 190g. The hub set, with SRAM XDR, weighs 187 grams and features enduro ceramic bearings and low-friction coated freehub bodies. Freehubs are available for Campagnolo N3W,Shimano HG,Shimano Microspline,and SRAM XDR. The hubset costs €1,695.00.
