Launched in 2022 by the Federal Ministry of Education and UNICEF,the Nigeria Learning Passport is part of a broader global strategy established in 2018. the platform delivers curriculum-aligned content in local languages, both online and offline. This ensures children can access educational resources anytime, promoting quality education for all.
The program has reached 19 states and boasts approximately 888,000 registered users, ranking second among participating countries. TECNO’s support will focus on strengthening content growth, providing technical equipment, and offering professional training for educators. UNICEF aims to include offline content for 50,000 children in remote areas in 2024, bridging the education gap.
cristian Munduate, UNICEF country Representative in Nigeria, said the partnership with TECNO will enhance the reach and impact of the Nigeria Learning Passport. She added that digital learning is a tool for bridging educational gaps and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive.
Jack Guo, General Manager of TECNO, said investing in education breaks the cycle of poverty and contributes to social and economic development. He added that through the Learning Passport program, TECNO hopes to help young people in nigeria access sufficient education and development opportunities.
By the end of 2023, the Learning Passport program had expanded to 38 countries, reaching 6.02 million registered users with over 13,000 courses. The Project Management Institute recognized it as one of the 50 Most Influential Projects in 2020, and TIME named it one of the best 100 inventions of 2021.

UNICEF plans to further expand the Nigeria Learning Passport, focusing on reaching more children in underserved communities and enhancing the platform’s content to meet diverse learning needs.
